You've heard what we have to say. Now its time to hear from those who are already running their own Jacks of London franchise.

1. What attracted you to Jacks?

I felt the “all male” environment coupled with a modern “up to date” image and strong brand was a winning formula. In addition I felt that many businesses were becoming affected by an ever increasing “on-line” strategy but having your hair cut is not an option via the internet.

2. Did you have any previous barbering experience/what was your background?
I have no barbering or industry experience. I have spent the past 30 years in Sales & Marketing roles, primarily within the Computer & Office Products Marketplace

3. What made you decide to take the plunge?
I was looking for a fresh challenge in a new industry that offered a good opportunity for success. The Jacks Franchise offered both of those options but meant that my previous Sales & Marketing experience would also be more than useful when coupled with the experience & strength on offer from the Jacks of London team.

4. How successful was your opening launch?
The Jacks of London team helped me to set-up an effective opening launch weekend which included pre and post launch activities. We used a variety of marketing methods to tell people that we were opening and although it took us a little while to be able to measure the results, after the first 3 months it was recorded that we had attracted over 1,500 new customers.

5. What do your customers like about Jacks?
Our customers love the fact that they know they will always get a good haircut at Jacks due to our highly trained, professional staff. The dedicated male environment, competitive price and great customer service are also key to Jacks success and our local corporate discount scheme, cut-throat shaving services and product knowledge/advice offer added value that is most welcomed.

6. In a few words, how would you describe your Jacks franchise?
It is an enjoyable place to work which offers close contact with your customers and the profit opportunity is clear, even in current times. I really enjoy the repeat business aspect of the industry too and the fact that our customers are so loyal which gives it a real “community feel “

7. How are you managing financially, especially in the current economic climate?
The fact that it is a cash retail business that provides no outstanding invoices really helps as you always receive your money straight away or within 3 working days when it’s a credit card sale. People will always need their haircut, they can’t get it cut on the internet and the fact that we are competitively priced and positioned in the market all go in our favour in this current economic climate.

8. What advice do you have for potential Jacks of London franchisees?

Be prepared for 2 to 3 years of hard work and then you will reap the benefits.
Ensure that your Customer Service is always at the highest level possible.
You do not have to be a Barber or Hairdresser just a business minded person with a strong desire to succeed.
